The Episcopal Peace Fellowship Palestine Justice Network (EPF PJN) is committed to the principle of just peace in Palestine and Israel that includes full human rights, self-determination, and dignity for every Palestinian. We are guided by a Vision that arises out of an anti-colonialist, anti-Zionist framework, but we recognize that each of us embodies that Vision in different ways according to our context and abilities. EPF PJN is grounded in the Episcopal faith tradition and exists organizationally as a network within the Episcopal Peace Fellowship. We are guided by the promise made in our Baptismal Covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being.” We operate outside the structure and authority of The Episcopal Church and receive no financial support from The Church. EPF PJN does not have “members” in the traditional sense, nor do we collect dues or have attendance requirements. We welcome everyone who is called by our Mission Statement, and who is willing to commit themselves to active engagement in education, support, and advocacy and to partner with other faith communities and secular groups who share PJN’s purpose.
The pillars of EPF PJN’s work are faithful witness, advocacy, and support. We witness in our monthly online gatherings and through prayer, study, and education:
We support entities striving to preserve hope, well-being, and cultural heritage for Palestinians; for example, in financial support for participants on solidarity witness trips to Palestine; our grant to the House of Hope Vision School in the West Bank village al-azariyyeh; and our commissioned work with the non-profit organization We Are Not Numbers in Gaza.
The work of EPF PJN is discussed and planned during monthly online gatherings. The monthly meeting is the decision-making body of our network. Ad hoc committees are formed often to address specific projects. Examples of such committees are communications and endorsements and planning for General Convention.
A small group of volunteers administers the work of PJN between the monthly meetings. Its responsibilities include creating agendas, recording and posting meeting notes, setting up and disseminating the link to the online meetings, and managing the network’s finances. The members of this administrative group are known to the larger group.
