PJN's Vision

The Episcopal Peace Fellowship Palestine Justice Network is committed to a faithful witness for Palestinian human rights, dignity, and self-determination; advocacy for justice and peace in the Holy Land; and support for entities striving to preserve hope, well-being, and cultural heritage for Palestinians.

Our work proceeds from these understandings:

• Political solutions, such as one-state or two-state, are the sole prerogative of Israelis and Palestinians and the leadership structures or individuals whom they choose.
• At the same time, the United States government’s massive financial and military support and diplomatic protection of Israel, confer a right and responsibility on American citizens to respond to events taking place in Palestine.
• Consequently, we hold that a just solution must acknowledge and make reparation for the history of Zionist settler colonialism and the ongoing violent displacement of an indigenous population and must honor the right of Palestinians to self-determination.
• We reject the assertion that responsibility for violence and injustice is shared equally by the government of Israel and the Palestinian people. The gross power differential, the unequal international standing, including the international bias in favor of Israel, and its history of settler-colonialism place both the blame and primary responsibility for resolution on the government of Israel.
• We refute the position that this is a religious dispute that can be resolved solely by interfaith dialogue or bridge-building. The horrific violence and extreme inequities demand bolder action including those laid out by the global BDS movement.
• Apartheid is but one manifestation of a broader Zionist program of ethnic cleansing carried out against Palestinian people in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
• Beginning in October 2023, acts of the state of Israel against the people of the Gaza Strip constitute acts of genocide.
